My SF stalled on a slow speed right turn. No engine code was produced. Anyone else experienced this problem? It is a 2011 Limited.

Also with a 2011 Limited. Has stalled three times in the seven months we've had it. Bought it new. Completely dies- no engine lights or anything. If I turn the car off and then back on, it seems fine. I've taken the car back in to the dealership where it was purchased (and serviced) and they've held it for at least a week each time, claiming they've done everything Hyundai reps have told them to do. They're telling me the car is ready to be picked up, and that they can't find anything wrong. Has happened when I was driving (accelerating after a red light), while my husband was driving (going over a speed bump), and once in traffic- slowly accelerating. Really dangerous, especially with two little kids in the car. Dealership has told me they have no reason to hold the car, and if I want to I can call the 1-800 number for Hyundai. Looking into the Lemon Law. Any further issues with your car? Also had a lot of problems with the rear view camera/radio (not turning on), synching phones, right front tire seems to spin when accelerating at right turns etc. They said they have replaced the radio since I've dropped the car off, but couldn't find any other problems. The stalling is my main concern, for safety reasons, but too many issues for a new car!

I've had the same thing happen to my in my new Veloster. I'll be taking a ramp from one freeway to another, going 60 miles an hour and apply a bit of brakes and my engine turns off. I have to pull over obviously then turn off the car... then it turns right back on again. It's terrifying. The care is less than a year old. It's happened twice. I'm going to be rearended soon . Hyundai will love paying for those injuries.

I have a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS. I purchased it in Feb. 2012. My car stalled on my three times already and each time I bought it to Hyundai to find the problem. The first time, I was at a stop sign and the car suddenly stalled. The second time, I was driving about 20 mph looking for a parking space. In the middle of the block, the car just stalled. The third time, I was going about 15 mph making a left turn then all of the sudden my the engine stalls and my steering wheel got really tight so I ended up at the side of the street where the bus usually stops. Each time this happened though, the car started right up and was running fine. Each time Hyundai said they couldn't find the problem. There were no codes that showed up when they ran the test on it. I've reported this to the Office of Defects Investigations and to Hyundai America. I don't feel safe driving this car plus I drive my family around all the time. Hyundai needs to give us a new car since there aren't that many cases yet. They can afford it. They need to do something before someone gets hurt or killed.

there are so many reasons why the engine stalls, 1st system to check is the ignition system, if there is no problem there, try to check the fuel system, then the EGR, and the last is the crankshaft position sensor.. RJ ( automotive engineering student)

I have had the same problem with my 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe limited. The first time it happened I stopped at a stop sign and the engine just flat died. Started right up again. Tonight I was making a slow right turn and the engine died in the middle of the turn. The third situation is that I was in line on a steep parking garage ramp and the engine did not die but when I stepped on the gas to move forward the engine would not accelerate. I put it in neutral and gunned the engine and then it worked. There is a definite problem with these cars and sooner or later there is going to be an associated accident.

My husband was driving our 2011 Santa Fe about 65 MPH today on a state highway when the engine jerked hard for a second or so, seemed to shut off and then start up again. We heard a loud clunking noise as if the bottom was falling out. I was rocketed forward kind of hard, but was unhurt. Very scary! We slowed down and drove the car directly home. Thankfully, we made it back safely. My husband plans to take the car to the dealer tomorrow. If we discover anything I will pass it along. But has anyone had this kind of problem? EMWard

We ha e been having the same problem with our 2011 Santa Fe and there are also a few others from our town having the same stalling at low speeds problem. We have phoned the customer service but that is an exercise in frustration as they are only paying lip service and we can't talk to any managers or anyone that can help us. Our dealer here has been good enough to lend us a car but we have been without our car for two months now. I refuse to drive this unsafe car with my grandchildren in it and Hyundai is doing nothing for us. They have had the mechanics driving our car and another fellows 2012 Santa Fe for the past two months and we still do not have any answers. How long is this going to go on for? We are seriously thinking of contacting Market Place or the ITeam regarding this matter. Has anyone else done this yet? We are not happy with the way Hyundai Canada is treating us.

own a 2013 and have had the same problem with loss of power. took it to the dealer today. Tech said he found a service notice that talked about a similar problem and required that the carburator software be updated (carburator is now called a Turbo something or other). Won't know if it solved the problem unless the problem happens again...dangerous situation.

Oh no, we just traded our 2011 Santa Fe in on a 2013 Santa Fe as I was afraid to drive our 2011 one as it kept stalling. There is no way Hyundai will give you a new car as we had to buy the new one.....grrrrrrr

parents have 2012 santa fe limited...stalled 5 times within first year...taken to dealer last 3 times...each time they say they've fixed it with last time saying they consulted tech people at Hyundai Canada...anyone else have a fair resolution?

We have had the same problem with stalling on our 2011 Santa Fe. At first it kept saying we were out of gas and then it kept stalling when we slowed down for turns. After 2 months at the dealers we have traded it in on a 2013 Santa Fe and we are just hoping the same thing doesn't happen.

I have 2007 2.2crdi santa fe and stalled two times. One is while decelerating at 60km/h, and other is at red light. No error codes appeared. And it took 20 min. to start the engine again for both events. Its obvious that this car is not reliable and Hyundai does not take any action for this chronic stall problems. I will never ever buy a hyundai car again. Our lives are not cheap as Hyundai sees, as they havent got any solution for years.

If any one finds a way to solve the problem, please share with us.

This has happened to three people that I know and we have all traded our cars in. The dealer said it was the throttle body but ours was changed three times. You won't get a representative from Hyundai to help you but our dealer was excellent with this problem

I was on the Hyundai Forum sight and found a person that after numerous attempts to fix the stalling problem, HE suggested they replace the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). They did so and the problem seemed to be solved. I am taking my 2011 Santa Fe in today for the same problem and will mention the TPS replacement.

My 2012 Sante Fe (had only 49 miles on it when purchased) does the same thing. I'm going to work through the dealership but also post to the company website. I hope they get this figured out before somone gets hurt. I have kids in the car as well.

but yet my 2004 with 185,000 miles (that I gave to my son) never has had the problem and is still going strong. ****Dealership just called and they are replacing the entire fuel throttle system. Keeping fingers crossed. Response time/concern from dealership was fantastic...hoping for the best.

I have a KIA Sorento 2012 and I have the same problem. My vehicle stalled 7 times. Every time I drove between 20 and 60 km. Kia Canada also closes eyes. My Vehicle is at present at the dealer's for 1 week and naturally they found nothing.Do somebody need to die before Kia or Hyunday take action ? What's is similar between Hyundai & Kia to have the same problem ?

One guy says to try replacing the TPS. I have a 2004 with 98900 miles and it just started stalling on right hand turns last week. Today it did it again. So far it has been very wet when it stalls. I can't say it is not the wet causing mine. Keep an eye on this sight for more info. I did fix my own problem on the Hyundai when the air bag/ safety belt light would come on and stay on. It was the plugs below the drivers and passenger seats and I cut them out and hard wired the wires and the system works and test great.

I have a 2011 Santa Fe that we bought new. It has 35,000 miles and it has stalled twice in the last ten days, luckily both at stop signs. No engine codes to my knowledge. Just took it in to the dealership and mentioned this forum - told them about the throttle position sensor and possible air bag issue - will let you know what they say. Its 2014 - I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that has been stalling out while driving. They cant seem to fix the "problem" because there is no "computer code". Last month, the brake lights stayed on even when car was off. That took 3 trips to the dealer to fix. I would have to remove the battery cables when I parked it. Its always a "computer" problem with this stupid car. Before that, the brake sensor was bad and car wouldn't start. This is the worst car I ever owned. Driver window button broke. A/C is going. But NOTHING worse than crossing and intersection and car stalls out and passengers start screaming that they might die. I hope this becomes a class action. I hate this tin can.

I have never been in or wrote on a forum before but I am in shock at how many people have this problem. I have a 2012 Santa Fe with 34000 miles. I bought it pre owned a year ago. In the last month it has stalled 3 times one in a parking lot, 2nd when approaching a red light, and today when I was slowing down for a stop sign. 1st time I thought I was just overwhelmed with my day and didn't turn the car in when I went to pull out of a parking spot. 2nd time I brought it straight to the dealer and they said a code came up for an update to the main computer and did a flash something and this may work but I would have to drive it to see. I have 4yr old twins and not loving the safety aspect of this problem. I took it back today and they kept it telling me that they opened a case on it. That it's a unique situation and they did a bunch of tests and faxed results to Hyundai and were waiting to see what they said to do. Tech said something about the alternator spiking and causing it stall. I hope I have better luck than what I'm ready.

Maybe a Good news. I have a Kia Sorento 2012 and have the same problem. (Wrote a post a few months ago) and just received a letter from KIA CANADA that said : KIA has recalled some KIA Sorento 2011-2013 to update the Motor Module (Software) that can cause a Stalling problem when we braked or Stop the car. My 2010 Tuscon (manual, bought used a few months ago) stalls regularly when doing a tight turn from stopped. My husband says its something about transferring power incorrectly, but he's no mechanic. Scary to hear so many others having a similar problem. We too have little kids in the back...will definitely contact Hyundai to see about the TPS or other...

After back and forth with dealership and Hyundai they offered me a buy back and I received a 2014 Santa Fe with no additional money out of my pocket. It was a pleasant experience and customer service from Hyundai corporate offices was outstanding.

Our 2011 Santa Fe just did this to my wife 3 days ago. Just turned off while at a red light. Thankfully she wasn't moving, but now is fearful whenever she drives that something could go wrong. Our vehicle is currently at the dealership now, and I will reference this thread when they call to tell me nothing is wrong. This has been the most problem-prone vehicle I have ever bared witness to. We had looked into the lemon law BEFORE this started happening. So far, we have replaced our transmission (less than 10k), transmission mount (bad install), steering column (twice) among other things. Car has less than 42k on it. I'm surprised to hear Hyundai just gave you a new Santa Fe - who did you talk to at corporate LauraLaney? Do you have any contact information to share to those of us in this thread?

Like I mentionned in a previous post, Kia recalled Sorento for the same problem. Need to update the Motor Software.. I'm sure that Hyundai is the same problem,

this just happened to me. I have a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. I was going left around a bend not going very fast and lost my steering and all power. Every light on the dash came on basically (like my car was in the on position and not started). i was able to partially get pulled over and put the car in park, turned it off, turned it back on and it seemed to work fine all the way back to work. Now reading this, I don't know weather to monitor it and hope it doesn't happen again or take it to the shop. I bought this pre owned just over a year ago, but not from a Hyundai dealership. I am sure any repairs would have to be out of pocket.

TAKE IT IN NOW. My 2011 Sonata did this. They couldn't get me into shop for a week and it progressively got worse until it stalled during a left turn at a major intersection and I could have been killed. They said it was a "computer" issue. Its always a "computer issue". The just fixed a "computer issue" with the break lights being stuck on while driving. I would have to disconnect the battery each time I parked in order to get lights to go off. Prior to that - the car wouldn't start because it said I didn't have my foot on break (push button start). Another "computer error". Now my a/c is going and even though I have an extended warranty - they want $300 to "look at it" to see if its under warranty. Oh yes, and somehow they say I need a front axil (not covered) because of a clicking noise Im hearing. And lastly - if I push the volume controls on the steering column, the GPS will engage and say "command please" or start dialing phone numbers. I hate Hyundai.

As I was driving down a slope slowly and making a right turn, the engine of my 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe suddenly stopped. The car stopped working. This was scary. I lost power steering. I still had pressure in my brakes, so i was able to stop.

This has been happening to me recently but not while driving. I will go to start the car, all the lights come on and BOOM,.... Off. Dead black. Then, I remove the keys, open and close the door and it starts right up. Totally intermittent but has happened at least 3 or 4 times in the past week. Something isnt right with this 2011 Santa Fe. I will never buy Hyundai again.

Hi all, like I said 5 months ago, I have a Kia Sorento 2012 (Canada) and it stalled around 10 times.. 5 months ago, Kia update the main Computer and it never stopped since.. Kia & Hyundai are the same Scrap.. maybe you need also a Computer update.

Our 2007 Sante Fe, after 90K+ miles and never a problem, suddenly began stalling intermittently and took some time to restart usually. Towed to dealer and they replaced the TPS module and PCV Valve...$350 fix. Drove off and had same stalling experience on the freeway going home. Returned and dealer said they put an ice pack on the PCM module and it started. They said the PCM (main computer module for the car) was defective...$1,100 replacement fix. Drove off the lot and car stalled within 100 feet of the service entrance and wouldn't restart...right in the middle of a busy 5 lane hiway. Car was pushed back into the service dept by the entire service mechanic staff. Car is in the shop right now...for the third time and who knows at what cost. After reading some of the possible solutions here I am thinking I might take the keys out before starting, walk around the car 3 times counter clockwise and one clockwise, get in by crawling through the rear hatch then try restarting (seems like there may be a sensor on the car that might sense a potential driver so best to confuse it first). Oh...forgot to put the ice pack on top of my head during this process to reduce swelling from the headache this car has become. All joking aside we are very concerned about the safety of this vehicle. Will update on any positive news...

Please issue a complaint with Transportation Canada. I have for the same problem (stalling and restarting among other very weird electronic issues. I've had the recommended so called fixes and they don't work. If I am the only one who lodges a complaint with them nothing will ever happen.

I am going through something similar as noanswersyet. I bought my 2012 Santa Fe pre-owned in early 2013. It has stalled on me numerous times. Sometimes at stoplights but most often at HIGH SPEEDS ON THE FREEWAY! I feel like one of these days, I'm going to be killed. I live in Phoenix where the average speeds on said freeways are 75 mph. I also find it happens when I try to accelerate to merge onto a freeway. The really bizare thing? 2 random indicator lights come on (and sometimes the check engine light also), my RPMs go to 0, yet the engine is still running. The car quickly decelerates down to maybe 40 and holds there despite my foot being pressed on the accelerator AND no RPMs. And if I keep my foot pressed down, the car will sloooooowly ramp up to 50, 60, 70 mph, but still with ZERO RPMs. Weird, right? I have taken video when this happened to prove it. Anyway, I've now taken it in five times and of course, they find NOTHING! I've had 2 computer/software updates - stalled within days of service. New transmission something-or-other - stalled withing days of service. I'm so over it. I've finally contacted Hyundai (1-800-366-5151) and they've opened up a case for me. Who knows what will come of it, but I'm hoping a replacement car with little to no added cost! I have 3 kids ages 2-10 I cart around in that thing - not that my life isn't as significant, LOL. But seriously, I fear for my life in this deathbox!

Look into the Lemon Law. I had a 2010 Santa Fe "Lemon" and call 1- 800-LemonLaw with attorney's Kimmel and Silverman and although it took about 6 months from start to finish, I ended up with a new 2011. My 2011 ended up doing the stall thing, only at low speeds, and finally Hyundai had a recall for it. So far, so good. No more stalling.

Unfortunately in AZ the lemon law only applies to NEW vehicles. Since I bought mine pre-owned (only a year old and I bet I know why the previous owner offed the thing!) so I'm not covered. Boo.

jodvil, that happened to me a few weeks after I bought my pre owned 2011. I was driving and all of a sudden, the RPMs read 0 on the dash yet the engine was racing. I had almost no acceleration. I brought it to the dealer right after this since it still had the 60K bumper to bumper warranty and they told me I probably put the car in neutral, which I did not. I was hoping it was a one time thing. That never did happen again but I am having many other issues, which seem to be electrical.

trusso - that sounds EXACTLY like my issues! **Update** I went into my dealership armed with a lot of this info as well as the class action lawsuit info filed against Hyundai for the vehicle years 2010-2012 (www.hyundaiusa.com/campaign929). They essentially paid off my loan and got me into a new 2015 Santa Fe - with an increase in my monthly payment and extension on my loan of course. I figure it's a small price to pay for my safety. I know I probably let them off the hook, but I can't help but think they KNOW about these issues and it was cheaper for them to buy back my 2012 than deal with the liability repercussions. Same stalling problem with my 2008 sta fe. Thank GOD I'm still here to join you in your quest to save lives of us sta fe owners and our families. Im just wondering why these earlier postings dated 10 months ago saying that "they will soon let us know what happens after the dealership service" never posted again? Has the problem been resolved or still being diagnosed until this time? Or worse is that they never got that chance to share the results anymore...I pray not! I barely can pullout a budget for its repair and I'm not taking my chances through trial and error. I am certainly relying for the good people in this forum to finally share their good experience to the solution to this problem. Please do enlighten us and thank you in advance for the life- saving info.

It happened to me 3 times with a Santa Fe 2008 100.000 km, i live in a country where you cant find the parts replacements and the Hyundai dealers has closed theis doors. Im seeing a correlation between the stall issue and the air bag light always on, also the horn its not working, but the shut down of the engine is new. Im alone here without any official support only the help of the forum. Thanks for all and i appreciate any solution.

Our 2008 St. Fe 90,000k suddenly lost power on weekend at 80kil (50 mph). We were returning home from long trip - thank God it did not do it in heavy traffic near Montreal at high speed. It made it to a turn off at about 5 mph. I took off the battery ground and it started with all the idiot lights out (we had 300 miles to go). It ran for two hours, then all hell broke loose. Four more occassions sometimes tense. Finally it ran two more hours to B&B. Yesterday it ran four hours home. Today I took it to mechanic for oil change (80 miles round trip). No problem... He checked for codes - none. He said it was because I had removed the cable and cleared ECU. "Let me know if it happens again." *** Frankly I thought it was my bad driving to low on fuel or getting bad fuel. I did put some injector cleaner in an something for water. I had all the terminals cleaned before leaving due to a previous issue with random no start. *** I have had previous new Hyundai products that were fine. We are retired in a remote town so I must get strategic fixes that work as a rule. Heck we put all new winter and summer rubber on the beast :) I was going to go south near Toronto to visit friends...now its do more homework. Perhaps if I can feed my mechanic good tips that have worked for some we might get by this grief. When all things fails... check the EGR valve. no extra cost...just takes up time and effort. its a mechanical device that you simply open up and clean. I hope this simple thingy I discovered will keep every one in this thread from junking their 2008 st fe and eventually prevent hyundai comp from getting a mass law suit. I am a sport pilot and I can do brakes on car, pull off parts etc. certainly no mechanic/tech...I really feel for people with no background.I read stuff tonight about SUA - TG we did not have that, ours was bad enough. This tech stuff is a real matrix. Fly by wire in cars is nowhere near as redundant as in large planes - its scary. *** Anyway our lack of acceleration may be more the APP vs TBS. The first can lose acceleration the latter sudden acceleration. Oh for an antique mustang...

I just talked to Hyundai service in another city (we are in a small town). They suggested the TPS over APP. My auto parts can get TPS for $60 (vs APP over $700). I will talk to another local mechanic and chew on decision...

Since a mechanic changed the TPS (throttle position sensor) we have not had any further incidents. Not saying that is your definitive answer, just saying we are thankful it worked for us a month ago. (I should have reported back).

I had the cutting off problem. The fault was that the engine was overheating due to a coolant leak.

I have read other people mention cut outs on right hand turns (but that may just be a coincidence); don't forget most ramps off/on freeways tend to be to the right. Its the acceleation/ de-acceleration that seems to be the common denominator. People have frequently not had codes (including dealers). Does your RPM gauge/tachometer surge at idle - when at a stop light for instance. In other words, watch the needle, it should be fairly stable. If it tends to bounce report back. Have good luck. drh

There was no visible/audible change in the RPM before the engine cut off. My cutting off problem have been solved,because I noticed a slight rise of the temp. gauge than normal, and found a coolant leak. The fact is,in my case, the computer cut off the engine to protect it (the engine) from overheating,with no code generated.

So happy you found the cause ! There are a number of sensors/issues that can affect our vehicles :) In the old days no computer to shut engine down - perhaps hurt engine. Just the same its a hassle or even dangerous... wouldn't it be nicer if the cpu/ecu would put up banner/audio. I am having the same issue with my Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7 liter. The headlights dim and the radio/heater slow or fizzle, and dashboard flickers. We replaced the alternator to no avail. The car will also die intermittently when driving at low speeds with no warning. It appears that the Positive Battery Cable is intermittently cutting out the connection from the alternator to the battery. The Hyundai dealership told me that when the battery drops below 9.6 charge the computer will kick in and kill the engine. So, after replacing the Positive Battery Cable on my 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe, I am no longer experiencing any headlight dimming or radio and heater interruption. The computer has not suddenly killed the car in motion. This appears due to the fact that the battery is maintaining a charge well above the 9.6 point where the computer will shut off the car based on the fact that there's not sufficient charge to run the car at the point when the connection to the alternator is disrupted by the faulty cable connection.

EGR VALVE WAS THE CAUSE OF THAT PROBLEM

I haven't gone through all of the answers yet. I noticed that when I turn right and floor it it goes into limp mode. From what I have heard it's the plenum. I'm thinking it's wet wires as it dose it more frequently on salted roads. I sprayed as many wire harness conectors as i can see with wd40. So far so good but it's dry here now. I'm sure it's the traction control sensors getting wet on the hubs though and throwing the computer out of wack

I'm getting a total power loss in my 2007 diesel Santa Fe, engine still running, no forward or reverse. It's intermittent, has happened 5 times in 3 months. No codes!! and my mechanic and Hyundai mechanics can't diagnose it. I've spent 5k trying to get this car right this year alone! New turbo, sip pump things, don't ask about tow trucks. This car nearly got me killed by losing power halfway across the busiest roundabout in our city last week, so dangerous! If anyone has had the same as my situation and managed to resolve it I'd love to hear it.

To all of you having the same issue......you need to losdge complaints with Transport Canada. I did and they had never had anyone else complain about this similar issue. I did a lot of research and gave them all of the links to all the forums and he was shocked to see so many people with the same issue yet no one else had come forward to them. I also spoke to the lawyer in charge of the class action suit that was going on in the USA and the lawyer in charge of the women in Eastern Canada whom has filed a lawsuit against Hyundai for the same issues. That's why the government hasn't done anything to enforce Hyundai to take care of this problem. Hyundai will keep ignoring the issue because they are a corporate giant and can. You can continue to take in your vehicles and get all the recommended fixes....yes I paid for and tried them all....total waste of money. I have since got rid of my Hyundai at a loss and bought a different vehicle. DO NOT BUY ANOTHER HYUNDAI. They seem to have the same issue with different years and makes of their vehicle lines and can't figure out what the issue is. Good luck and stop going to your dealerships for help. I found my Santa Fe loses power on a right hand turn in WET road conditions. Motor still runs but no power. I found water was getting on the engine belt causing it to slip so nothing works but motor runs. When the belt stops slipping everything works great. Need to add a something to the frame that stops water from being thrown on the belt.

2007 Santa Fe. We so far have gone thru 5 alternators 3before recall of which a leaky valve gasket dripped oil into alternator causing unexpected in motion stalling. Hyundai has replaced the leaky valve cover. This vehicle has about 130 k on it. 2 weeks ago another alternator Our stalling while driving still happens.they have recently updated our throttle body software in hopes of a fix. The problem has not gone away. Now they want to replace the entire throttle body for which the part is $850 alone. I have just read the riot act to Hundai and told them of the hundreds of posted complaints and about the class action lawsuit filed in the US. I will file a formal complaint to transport Canada about the dangers of these engines and computers. I may talk with a major news broadcaster as well to see if they can bring this too light. God help us but I think only a death or two will get Hyundai motivated to solve this

5 alternators one valve cover gasket replacement,still have same stalling problems. Contact transport Canada web page and file a defect complaint form before one of us or more die in these vehicles

My 2007 Santa Fe Limited, AWD, 3.3 Litre. 175,000kms. Have been noticing for past 3-4 that the car will occasionally "lurch" (or perhaps it is just the experience of me as driver lurching forward as vehicle appears as if about the stall). It usually happens while attempting a right hand turn from a stop light or stop sign, though it also happens while driving. On a few occasions the dashboard fully lights up. On two occasions the emergency break activated and only by turning off and on again would it fully release. Once while my son was driving home from work at 1:30am! My mechanic friend said he registered two codes - one was about the alternator getting oil drippings on it and not fully charging. He replaced it. Did not fix the problem. The other code was "something to fix with the computer" he said. He did not know how to fx it, We had just purchased a brand new 2017 Santa Fe Sport SE. However, after reading all of these complaints, Iam now concerned we have made the wrong decision by purchasing Hyundai again, Although none of these complaints are about a post 2013 model.

It could a Transmission problem,ask your mechanic to chk. the TCM,for any faulty or stuck solenoids.

My 2017 Santa Fe is in the shop now for a second time for stalling problems (2280 miles). Fingers crossed. Last week they claimed it was connected to a recent recall. I can not remember the recall name. I will try to update as I find out more.

Hello, I had the same problem on my Kia Sorento 2012.. It stop several times (10 times in 70000 km) .. They updated the computer Software of the SUV and never stop since.. I have now 204000 km.

I have a 2017 Santa Fe Sport, AWD as well. Has stalled a few times and became very dangerous this last time as it was on a high speed road. Taken it to the dealership twice and they keep it all day but say nothing can be done as they are not able to replicate the same issue. Suggested I call consumer affairs or record it when it happens. Seems like this is indeed an issues that is very dangerous to us all and nothing is being done....

I have a 2004 Santa Fe and mine does it on a right hand turn if the road is wet. Water is thrown by the tire on the fan belt causing it to slip. If it slips long enough the engine does stall out.

As strange as this may sound I think the stalling may be due to a low battery. I called the dealership and he said something about the battery connection or low battery. Today my battery was dead so its probably getting bad. Time will tell if I replace the battery and the stalling stops.

I also have a 2011 Santa Fe with the stalling problem - having changed the relevant sensors the problem just comes back after about 2000 miles. I now beleive the problem may be linked to the auto gearbox. The slow speed indicates the gearbox has tried to move to the next gear and when you then try to accelerate the box wants to shift back down to the lowest gear - but this takes time and the engine is left with no power. Don't know how to test this tho - any ideas. I am going to try holding the box in manual for a time to see if it helps.
