Windshield Washer Pump Replacemet

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
How do I access the pump? I've seen video on going thru the wheel well and
others taking out the front headlight, neither are model or year specific. Also,
if going thru the wheel well can ti be done without removing the tire?

I have 2004 Santa fe and the windshield washer fluid resevoir has a sponge devise which is designed to tell you how much fluid is in it.That sponge disinagrates and clogs pump filter. Remove sponge and throw away. Then clean the filter below where the sponge was. You should be good to go.

Easy fix once I got around to it. Turned wheel to the far right, no need to jack up or remove wheel. Removed 2 clips on the inner cover where the small mud guard is located. Pulled back the inner wheel cover to reveal the pump. Placed catch pan under the pump and disconnected the pump and the two (2) hoses - front and back. Replaced the pump with a pump I bought on Amazon for $16. Reconnected everything and put the wheel cover back. Took all of 15 minutes with most difficult part being getting this 70 year old body up off the garage floor. Total cost $16.00 vs $200.00+ at dealer and satisfaction of doing it yourself.
