Iridium or Nickel Spark Plugs?

Asked by Michael Dec 26, 2017 at 03:40 PM about the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Summit 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Its time to change my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 5.7L Hemi's spark plugs
(IAW Manufacturer's recommendation) and the dealer recommends nickel
plugs while a car care center recommends iridium plugs. I like the idea of the
longer life iridium plugs; however I am concerned about deviating from OEM
recommended plugs and read mixed reviews on the internet.  Can you
please advise. Thanks...

I would go with platinum or Iridium but I would ask why the dealer recommends nickel.

Just replace them with same plugs that Jeep put in originally ,

Use original equipment plugs. Chrysler is very specific about this issue. The other plugs are costly and unnecessary. As long as the plug fires your good to go.
