2004 Dodge Durango drained battery and ticking in engine

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Any feedback on my
2004 Dodge Durango
battery drained and a
fast ticking sound under
hood on driver side. Also,
at the same time a red
light flashing on the
dash.
I just cleaned the battery
recently, and the battery
is around 2 years old.

Ticking is the result of a weak battery or corroded connection that has a high resistance. If the battery took a full charge, eliminate any corrosion (both power and ground)and try again. If still no good, either the battery is too weak and needs replacement or your alternator is not functioning right and is not charging the battery.
Thanks. I really appreciate it. It was working fine before I cleaned the battery connections..... This is my 2nd 2004 durango. 1st one, not 1 problem, only sold due to long commute and gas was much pricier. This 1, nothing but problems. That's the way it goes sometimes. Thanks again

make sure the batt terminals are tight .
Today was the same thing, It has gotten colder where I live in northern California. I also forgot to mention I noticed a buzzing sound from under the hood. The car won't turn over. To me, it's acting like a dead battery but then again I don't know much about this stuff, only what I've been through. I'm going to do all your suggestions regarding tightening the battery terminals and making sure it's clean.
