2012 xc60 R Design battery 10.26 V at 74k miles

Asked by Renellehayes Oct 25, 2015 at 04:06 PM about the 2012 Volvo XC60 T6 R-Design

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We always open our hood to help cool engine after parking in garage (turbo
v6 engine), would this cause battery drain? Or why would our battery be dead
(10.26 volts) at only 74k miles in mild climate?

Well they don't last for the life of the car, batteries have a certain life expectancy, and they don't put in top notch batteries from when the vehicle was new.

The Sirius Radio, even if you are paying for the service to use it, keeps using the battery whether the Car is on or off . My 2010 XC 60 was always having the battery drain or go dead and they figured it out it was that. We told the Volvo Dealership to disconnect the Sirius Radio completely and said we would not pay to have that done since that was no one’s fault but Volvo that they didn’t figure out a way to prevent that when they were all installed.
