Asked by YJACKSON Apr 12, 2012 at 11:40 AM about the 2004 Dodge Durango SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had transmission rebuilt in 2004 Durango 4.7. just got it out of the shop about a week ago .
Driving to work.. It stalled. Car will start but wont shift into gear. When i put in drive or reverse it wont
move. This is the third time I have had this problem after having the transmission repaired.

my gess would be dont take it to that shop any more idk if there should be a problem becase it should be working fine unless you use it a lot then if it is hard to put in to 4h or 4l then it might be bad or if you hear grinding or if it jerks.

the vehicle has a direct connection to the rear drive shaft, a transfercase malfunction will only affect the ability to send power to the front wheels. go back to the transmission shop and have them readjust your shift cable.
