Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and it felt like the steering wheel locked up so I looked under the hood & I saw a belt loose at the front of the engine.  I want to know if I can safely drive the car to a garage to avoid paying for a tow truck.

Yes, but take a route with little traffic because the steering will be much harder than non-power assisted cars.

You can but take it slow and be cautious when maneuvering. It will be MUCH harder to drive. Shouldn't hurt anything though.
