It means the overdrive is turned off. Push the button on the end of the transmission gear shift to turn it on. It should generally be activated and the light should go out.

Do I still have to take my car to Garage for checking what is the problem? I told the garage what happen, they says that could be the transmission problem.

If the O/D light stays on or continues to come back on then yes take to dealership
