Replaced fuel pump

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I diagnosed a 89 chevy van with tbi after getting bit
good by the spark plug wire I figured out it was
firing my next step was to spray starting fluid and it
Crunk and ran as long as I kept spraying so i
assumed pump, clog, or fuse. So I ruled out fuse
and continued by removing tank. After removing
tank and pump I took it around to the battery and it
would not do a thing. So I then just to make sure it
was not the two pronged harness I then put the
plug on the new pump and touched it to the battery
and it fired right up so I put it on and hook up all
the electrical and replaced harnesses and grounds
but it won't turn on when I turn key at this point I
have the pump and assembly sitting on top of the
tank trying to get it to come on but can't get any
juice so I ran the length of the harness and
everything was cool took it bak off stuck it to
battery and came on again put it bak thinkin maybe
I mixed up wires so tried it every different ways
possible checking fuse each time and sill can't get
power plz help me
