Need help turning off Maint. Req light on a 2012 Toyota Camry XLE

My wife has a 2012 Toyota Camry XLE and the Maintenance Required came on.  It is not blinking, just on all the time.  I searched on the internet and every suggestion I found said to set the odometer to Trip 1 while the car was running then turn the car off.  The procedures then said to hold the button for the odometer in and press the start button without having your foot on the break and the odometer would flash a number of zeros and the maintenance light would go out.  Well, I tried that and I don't get the flashing zeros on the odometer and the light on the dash remains on.  Can anyone suggest anything different

While the car is running press the odometer button until it reads Trip A and then turn the car off. While pressing in on the odometer button keep your foot off the brake then press and release the start button twice. When you do the above correctly, the odometer will flash a number of dashes and then all zeros and the maintenance required will turn off. Note: Most internet instructions will tell you to press the start button once but this did not work for me and this was the instructions I received from a Toyota dealership.
