2012 Toyota Camry Headlights and Fan Won't Turn Off

Asked by GuruDQLCQ Sep 06, 2017 at 09:15 AM about the 2012 Toyota Camry XLE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Took the camry in for front bumper replacement. When we picked it up, the headlights and cooling fan won't run off, door locks chatter when activated, etc. Battery dies and had to be replaced.  The shop is telling us that the control module is getting very hot and needs to be replaced - $3000.  I believe that they may have pinched a cable when replacing the bumper and support brackets. Does their analysis appear accurate?  Advice please.

It's typically a ground issue located on the left fender bracket. Toyota has a repair bulletin for body shops repairing these vehicles from a collision loss. They're not supposed to start the vehicle if these ground wires are disconnect, loose, or if the left fender bracket is replaced or it may cause electrical wiring and computer damage.

The above post by Manny appears to be the fix for your car. Google Toyota T-SB-0179-12. Make a copy....take it to the repair shop. Gt back to us with results.
