If your battery IS fully charged and all you hear is a single click as you turn the key, either the solenoid contacts are bad or the starter motor itself is bad. If you hear click-click-click as long as you hold the key in the start position, it is a discharged battery as the cause.
Further info. would be helpful. Basically 2 thinks have to happen in order to get a vehicle started and running. ONE...the battery must be near fully charged (12.3-12.6volts)...and...the starter motor must function. The engine should CRANK vigorously. Next...the ignition system must function to allow SPARK to reach the spark plugs. Fuel is simultaneously delivered to the INJECTORS....then...the engine FIRES UP and runs. So....does the engine CRANK well...like the battery is good? Get back to us with more information.
How can I check the fuel simultaneously delivered to the injections?
My 2012 Camry was not cranking even though the radio and air conditioner would come on, but the engine would not start. I found out that my battery had a lot of corrosion on the battery element. I used a bottle of Pepsi and a brush and my car started right away.
