"Better" how? Is the Leaf more eco-friendly? Yes. Is the Nissan Leaf faster? Yes. Is a used Leaf a better value than a used Prius? Yes. You should check with the dealership if it has the QC port. Keep in mind most chargers out in the world are Level 2. We've had our Leaf for 1 year and so far I think we've used the QC option zero times. You should get the Leaf and be prepared to think of it as a smartphone on wheels. Keep it charged up and you'll be fine.

The SL model usually comes with the QC 440V port. I own two Leaf's and have never used the QC port. I have used the L2 220V charging port may times. I even installed an L2 charger at home. I bought the JuiceBox 40A on Amazon for about $500. A used Leaf is much cheaper compared to a Prius. I got my 2015 SL with 250 miles for $17k. A 2013 Prius with about 80k miles was about $20k.

Thanks for your excellent answer. A friend who recently bought a used Leaf S said he thought he should have looked for the SL because of the QC Port. About how many hours does it take to charge using the L2 charger? I was also told that I shouldn't plan to regularly use the trickle charge as constant use has a negative effect on the battery. Finally, are the Leafs your only cars? My commute is about 40 miles/day round trip, and it would be my only car.

I have a Nissan Leaf SL and a 2013 Prius my wife and I prefer a leaf for short trips but for trips over 50 miles one way or more we take the Prius when buying a Nissan Leaf SL ask the dealer for a photograph of the dashboard so you can see the number of miles of range the battery is capable of
