2012 Camaro.. rear differential oil change..

As long as it is not leaking you may never need to change diff oil! We have vehicles with 250,000 miles and running the original diff oil --- you can change it if you want, but I definately would not so it until 50K or so --- the problem is that once you open it up -- then you open yourself up to leaks and problems --
paul don't give bad answers, the answer is yes it needs to be changed after the break in period 1k to 3k then every 25k the high performance camaro's have a posi that take's an additive for the clutches a friction modifier that needs to be done as well. as for leaks make DAMB sure the cover is clean and dry as well as the pumpkin "diff housing" i would suggest not doing it your self until the power-train warranty is up have it done at the dealership think of it like this its seems expensive to have done at a dealership but it is far more expensive to have a diff fixed because of poor maintenance
@eric you are right, i'm sure that is why my 2002 rear diff had problems. research on the web shows it is do-able.
i just checked.. i have two drain bolts on the housing
ya should be easy peazy i would get 1 extra jug of gear oil and once it is drained leave the plugs out and bathe the gears and let it drain out before filling it helps get all the filings out and clean the magnets on the end of the plugs dont forget the additive for the posi and enjoy the sweet ride
limited slip delete car..i hear some still add some additive still. is it ok to add?
oh ya wont hurt it the stuff just absorbs in to the clutch friction plates
If put new high performance gears in my differential, on a 2010 as Camaro. How soon should I change the differential oil
