Sell or Repair 2012 Equinox?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Timing chain needs repair. $2200 estimate. The car also may have the oil
consumption issue BUT - cannot be checked until the car can run. UGH! The
dealer is offering $5000 as is. The car is in good shape (very min. rust inside
doors) 84K miles. Do we repair the timing issue, hope it does not spend time
in the shop in the future with the oil consumption, or take the 5k and trade in
with the current 4/30/18 deals that are running????

I'd just sell it. From my experience with cars they just becoming a money pit. Id just take the 5gs

I just put $2,500 into my car in the past year, and recently found out I need a brand new motor. GM has them on back order, because so many are having timing issues. It is 4,500 to 5k just for the new motor. I am getting rid of mine. I hope I can get 5k out of it...

I wish I could trade mine. This car is so exhausting. I will never purchase other GM vehicle ever again!
