Asked by GuruH2L1C Aug 04, 2019 at 12:42 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My light came on in my 2012 5.3L Silverado. I took
out the air filter..cleaned it and the box(live in the
desert). Then went online to see if there was
anything else I could do before going to mechanic.
I use Aimsoil had it changed about 8k ago...went to
a place for diagnostic check..said oil pressure
sensor was bad. Bought a new one with screen to
be replaced. Made an appt with mechanic..but now
the light went off??? Should I still replace the
sensor??

Yep..plan on it....butwill I do any damage to the motor? Oil pressure at idle is at 20 on gage..when moving goes to aprox 30
