Why is my oil pressure reading zero?

Asked by Hunterp19 Nov 02, 2020 at 09:15 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Crew Cab RWD

Question type: General

I have a 2012 Silverado with a 5.3l and my oil
pressure randomly shows 0 but I don’t get the “low
oil pressure shut engine off immediately” warning.
My obd2 scanner also says oil pressure sensor
circuit high... I’ve recently changed the oil and it is
full on the dip stick.. what could it be?

Check oil pressure with manual gauge to make sure it is not an engine issue and just a bad sending unit
