suburban third row cable broken

Asked by kapd02 Jul 19, 2018 at 11:37 PM about the 2012 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LTZ 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The 40 of third row 60/40 seat was removed and then incorrectly placed in
second row.  Eventually it was removed.  Now trying to replace in the third
row the seat back will not raise.  After pulling the 2nd handle one side will not
disengage.  It appears one of the release cables has detached or is broken.  
How do I repair the cable as well as remove the hard back cover.  Thank you
for your assistance.

As for the cable find a garage door service technician, most will have small diameter wire rope (1/8") which is very strong and custom make them in a snap
