13-081 Issue Again After Warranty Repair

Asked by Lad1163 Jan 07, 2021 at 09:50 AM about the 2012 Honda Odyssey EX FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2012 Odyssey needs the repair under the 13-081 warranty extension again,
after it was done by the dealer in Oct of 2017.  They told me that I have to pay
for the repair since this issue occurred 12 months after the warranty service
was completed.  I called Honda directly, and they told me the same thing.  I
wonder if anyone else has had this happen to them.  If so, did they find a way
to get Honda to pay for the repair.

Probably not. Usually how this works is when you have a warranty repair done you're covered by the warranty the Dealer offers for the repair after the manufacturer warranty expires. For example if you have 6 months left on the manufacturer warranty and you have a warranty repair done. The repair is covered by the Dealer's warranty on the repair after the manufacturer warranty expires. So if the Dealer's warranty is 12 months you will get an additional 6 months on that repair. Once that expires, you're done with any warranty. It is confusing sometimes. Hope that helps! Jim
