Purchasing a car that had an accident

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am looking at purchasing this car at first I did not notice that the car had been
in an accident I am calling back the seller to see what type of accident the car
was in it depends on what he tells me if I purchased the car and that my
question what type of accident could he tell me that will be a definite  NO for
me to purchase the car And can you also give me some tips on what type of
maintenance questions I should ask about the vehicle thank you so much and
have a blessed day

Is the car a private party purchase or a dealer. If a dealer all they would have what is on the carfax. I wouldn't buy it unless it checks out from a MB mechanic looking it over first before you buy.

Any structural damage such as a bent "frame" is a red flag. If the air bags were deployed or if the title is branded you should not buy it.

Also, if the accident happened recently and now the vehicle is up for sale I'd be suspicious of it. Could be something wasn't fixed correctly or the vehicle now has an ongoing problem that can't be fixed because of the accident. Proceed with caution! Hope that helps! Jim
