i have a dodge startus 2003 not charging and alternator is good,how can find out the problem?

I have a 2003 dodge stratus that is not charging , tested the alternator tested good and check the fuses and the battery connection all good and then was told is could be the computer . I did change the computer with a used one and the same year can't afford a new one ,it work for a little while and then it stop charging , I can know if it just the computer or a wire.

If it worked for a while, you have a bad connection/short-circuit somewhere. It can be hard to pinpoint. Your best bet should be to go to the dealer but their rate is always high...

I have the same problem with my parents 2001 Stratus. If it does not have an absolute strong battery, it will start and run fine, but battery light stays on. As yesterday's computer controlled cars age, I believe the electronics become much more sensitive to voltage drop. Some cheap tricks are to poke little hole in battery cable near the terminal...if you see green corrosion, get new cables. Use a repair manual to find and clean all ground connections on engine and body. Check all exterior lamp sockets for corrosion. Often, this cheap cleaning will only get you 1/2 a volt extra voltage, but you would be amazed how many systems pep up ( electric windows operating faster, etc. Good luck!
