Question type: Car Customization

I was recently looking for a Buick GNX and ran across an ad for a 1986 Buick Regal T-Type with the following description of the rear suspension;  "... the rear lower control arms being boxed, and installed upside down."
My question is what is this and why is it a good thing (at least the context would suggest it to be)?

boxing them would make them stronger. installing them upside down would change the ride height.
