2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 v8

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 02 dakota 4.7 v8 has been stalling or
having a rough low idle when I come to a
stop and light and also I've been having
very sluggish performance lately. Where it
doesn't want to accelerate like it's
supposed to. I was Wondering what could
be causing it? I don't think it's the iac
because it doesn't idle high then low it just
idles low so I think it's either the tps or
maybe the map sensors? Or it could be the
cat or is there a possibility that since my
exhaust has a hole in it (was waiting till
after winter to replace) that that's the
problem. Anyone else have this problems
and fixed them? Plz let me know

The hole in the exhaust could affect your performance, and the cat could be getting plugged. Just check that in a dark place with the engine warmed up and idling after a drive, it would be glowing orange, or have a orange hot tint to it.The IAC may be good but the port may be all gummed up. That should be taken out and the port & IAC cleaned. Clean the throttle body, the throat and butterfly also. The MAP sensor is another possibility.
I replaced the IAC and TPS and my stalling is gone and everything is back to normal Cost me a total of $85 for sensors and a can of throttle body cleaner( I order them online and used promo code SAVINGS for 30 percent off each thing) ORDERED FROM ADVANCED AUTO PARTS

My 4.7v8 dodge dakota has been doing the same thing.. then it stalled at a Starbucks drive thru. And wouldn't start. Smelled electrical burnt smell..then it popped s 30 a fuse... Keeps melting coil - packs on one of the spark plugs. What could cause this?
