The two trucks are the same except one is a 2x4 and the other is 4x4, same engine same everything

Look for a label on the ECU. If the two are not exactly the same you will have problems.

I would think not. Because the trannys the computer tells the transmission when it is in 4 wheel drive and if it’s in high or low gear. I could be wrong
