Maybe the problem. In my 2010 I experienced the same thing with the key. Found out when I was filling the tank I force fed more gas into the tank after the first click off of the pump. Ford states DO NOT DO THIS. What I did was force liquid gas back through the vapor lines into the EVAP system and destroyed the EVAP pump mounted on the top of the engine used for test purposes to pull a vacuum on the fuel tank while the vehicle was in operation. The problem is probably in the EVAP system. If this pump gets stuck running it can collapse the fuel take via constant vacuum. These tanks are extremely expensive.
