2012 Subaru Outback overheating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2012 Subaru Outback will
randomly overheat. I’ve driven it for 2
hours with no problems other times it
overheated after 10 minutes. I
replaced the thermostat and temp
sensor. My mechanic had it for the
past month with no problems. I drove
it approximately 25 minutes last night
and it was fine. Today after 10
minutes of driving it overheated
again.No Co2 present in engine
fluids.
My mechanic and myself are at a
loss why it overheats. Any ideas?

First check the coolant level and purge air out of the system. Make sure the cooling fans work. You may need a new radiator and/or a cooling system flush.
