I have a 2012 veloster that once or twice a year just won’t start. Been to the dealership each time and I can’t get any resolution to my issue.

Anything out of the ordinary when it does not start? Cold, hot, humid, rainy, been running for a long time before turning off (long trip), not started in 4+ days, anything you can think of that might help with diagnosing?

Probably carbon build up on intake valves... Common with the GDI design.

My granddaughter just had the engine replaced, 4 months later the transmission went out, as we were waiting to see if the flywheel was bent( would have to be repaired, howned) the shop called and said it was missing teeth, that this would cause a dead spot at times when she would try to start up and it wouldn't start intermittently.
