2012 toyota corolla s..when I shift it down into drive it says
its in 3rd and drives like its in 3rd. Took to toyota and they
said replace shifter assembly.  I did that with no help.

I would contact Toyota and tell them the fix did not work. Make an appointment to take it back in, and complain that you paid to fix it and it wasn't. They should make it right.
