1997 BMW 740iL transmission

Asked by Stephan_Gerard Oct 29, 2016 at 09:30 PM about the 1997 BMW 7 Series 740iL RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 1997 BMW 740iL and it was brought her by a tow truck. The driver drove it off the truck and put it in my driveway. I had to get a new battery though since I got the new battery it will not move. I put it in Drive nothing, the same for 1st, and 2nd. Also will not move in reverse. I am on a very tight budget from of a pension. Is there anything anyone can suggest that I can do to get my car back up and running without any transmission problems? I will take all positive help out there thank you

Buy a scanner (about $100) and pull the code and reset the computer and might fix the problem. Check all the fuses and relays, you might have a blowen fuses or relay. Is the electric parking brake disengaged ??
