Noise under rear of car

Opening door and putting key in ignition while car
is off, makes an almost thumping, clicking noise.
Also sometimes can hear humming vibration
noise from rear upon starting.

Climate control not on. The noise is coming from under car towards rear. Doesnt happen all the time. Open door and it is more like a knocking usually 3 times and stops. Also when i just insert key and do not crank get same noise.

Similar problem:Whenever i open the door driver door, the rear of the car knocks 5 times. The car is a 2014 Ford Escape and it started knocking about 1 month ago.

2016 doing the same thing here. It is the fuel pump cylcling on and off quickly. No idea why though.
