Motor in Ford Escape looses power while driving.

Question type: General

Car motor loose power while driving.  Have to pull over to side of road, turn
engine off and restart.  Engine restarts and am able to drive.  It has done this
several times over a period of months.

I have a similar problem with my escape and tracked itto using the air con. If you don't switch the air con it is fine. As soon as AC is selected it acts just as you describe. I was told there is a small unit which is faulty as per the picture. Yet to get this confirmed ..
