has there been a recall on the heat shield on escape

No recall that I know of. They rust off pretty easy, especially in the rust belt.

the heat shields from front to back all come loose. The bolts rust and the surronding metal on the shields give out and the shields fall. Problem is they dont always rattle or become visible UNTIL you hoist up the car and actually check. The shield covering the gas tank is particularly concerning because you cannot drill any new holes and the bolts rust to the point of uselessness. Sad performance from Ford.
