HVAC - Cold Driver's Side, Hot Passenger Side - NOT BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR

Asked by John Dec 31, 2024 at 11:31 PM about the 2013 Ford Edge Sport AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2013 Ford Edge Sport with dual climate control.  The driver's side is
blowing cold and passenger's side blowing hot.  I changed the blend door
actuator on driver's side.  Reset the system doing the defrost/power
sequence.  Still didn't help.  Pulled actuator off and manually adjusted blend
doors.  Will NOT blow hot air on the driver's side.  No matter where I put the
blend doors.  When I put the setting to the dash vents, I get very little velocity
of cool air through the driver's side and very fast velocity hot air through the
passenger side vents.  I ran it in defrost mode and the car smelled like sulphur
and burnt electronics/plastic.  Can someone help me with where to look next?
Is it the hvac control module?  Blocked heater core?  I just had the water
pump replaced and new timing belt.
