AWD dash light on. Clunking and grinding after being told it was rust. Much more sever than that.

Ford Edge 2013 was told grinding was rust on break. typical of this car. Grinding today went to clunking, grinding and things moving around inside somewhere with AWD dash light going on

We brought the car to the garage and the Transfer Case had to be replaced. Thanks for the help. 32,000 and it has been all easy miles. It worries me this could be a potential problem with this car.

I see that this post is old but would like to add that I've had the same issue with my 2013 Ford Edge Limited AWD and noticed all the warnings before the light came on and took it to the dealer. Service department said this wasn't an issue they ever heard of but after digging I see they weren't correct in their statement.
