Jump starting a car with help of ford edge and the cable touch each other

Hi Cargurus,
I was jump starting a friends car with the help of my Ford Edge 2013 and accidentally the
cable on my Ford Edge's battery side has touch other and caused a spark resulting in car
ahut down completely and i cant see any electric thing working nor the car is satrting,
Please help

You fried something. Since your Edge is still under warranty, call the dealer and tell them you can't get the car to start coz what ever you did isn't something that's going to be easily fixed. Oh and leave out how it happened. Good luck.
First- don't jump start cars with battery cables- for this very reason- it was dangerous back in the 20th Century with the analog cars- because the batteries would explode in people's faces if a spark was created- that danger is still there with a new danger, although not as critical as getting battery acid in your face and eyes- the modern, digital, plastic cars don't like electrical anomalies coursing thru their wiring- can I just put up a permanent statement on this site that says: "DON'T USE BATTERY CABLES!' I get tired of saying it- how hard is it to have a AAA membership? They will just put a new battery in a car!- you will have to take it to the dealer or a good mechanic- your warranty will not cover owner caused damage- and lying about it is not a good thing- like I tell the kids in school: "What do we call people who tell lies? LIARS!"
Hi Jamnblues The battery is all OK but there is not a single electric thing working in car and also the car is not starting, no crank , its keyless entry and the car is not even closing its lock from the remote ... Could u tell me what exactly the problem could be, fuse or something??
you have a new car, and there are many electrical components which might be causing your problem- it is so new, my suggestion is to take it to a Ford dealer and have them test it- I think it might be something minor that the dealer can reset-

Hopefully you just blew the main fuse in the positive battery cable instead of frying the computer and multiple modules. You now have to check all the fuses for ones that are blown and replace them and see if the vehicle starts. If not the pcm is prol cooked
