Ed's post mentioned most of the problems you may encounter. But, you want to put an
older engine in a newer vehicle. You should take the electronics (computer) from the older
vehicle. There is a possibility your newer engine will have a sensor or two not on the older
engine or located in a different location. It is a good idea to also mark on the older engine
it's VIN number and what year vehicle you took it out off. If operating specifications are
slightly different from the older engine's year than the newer engine, a mechanic might be
pulling his hair out trying to adjust an older engine to newer specifications. Same idea
goes for engine parts.
