Why is my Ford Explorer changing its own temperature, how do I fix this?

Asked by Waters10 Nov 13, 2020 at 10:03 AM about the 2013 Ford Explorer Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Ford Explorer changes the inside temperature by
itself.  I have the heater on and it turns Dual on and makes
the passenger side go to the coldest air, than is hard to
make it go back to the heat.  It continuesly turns back cold
and turns Dual back on.  Help me I'm cold haha.

Same thing happens to me on my 2013 Explorer. Here's the weird fix that works for me: When you hear the blooping that comes with the temperature on the passenger side being adjusted, just turn the volume dial. The ghost adjusting the temperature instantly goes away, and you can reset it to where you want.

I have the same issue and the fix as described above works temporarily but I think it is related to other issues and would love a more permanent solution.
