Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Went out to start it. Didn't start. Acted like it wanted to. Waited awhile, then
clickclickclick and guages went goofy. All advice on web says battery. Have
battery in place. Have cleaned everything and now looking at a frayed orange
wire on positive side of cable. Where's that go? Next, I guess I'll need to know
how to tell which fuses and relays are bad if it's not the battery. This is my
crash course in mechanical repair. I'm better at cooking. Any help
appreciated.

You could try swapping your starter relay with another one that goes to something that don't matter.

Excellent idea, especially because many relays were missing. But that didn't do it. I had someone else mess with the new battery and he actually got it to crank again but it didn't turnover. I cleaned the cables and dropped one of the nuts. Couldn't find it.That might be the issue now, but any other ideas if it isn't ? I've got to get this van going. It's my only transportation and I've been stranded now close to 3 months. I wonder if I can get credit for self induced home incarceration (just in case) lol
