Ruff idle, dies after full throttle, no engine codes
2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7, no recent work...
Drove on the highway for an hour the other day and about a minute after I pulled off the truck shut off going about 50 mph. Pulled over put it in park and tried to start it gain. Truck starts sputtering finally starts but is misfiring and shuts itself off (Note: truck was not hot, had oil pressure, no engine codes and drove as it always did prior to this). Got the truck home and noticed the terminals on the battery cables were in need of replacement. Replaced them with new terminals, a new battery to chassis ground, and cleaned the ground from the battery to engine block. Truck starts but is idling ruff (still no engine codes), drove it around let it get up to temp (everything reading normal on gauges). Once up to temp I floored it and it took off like it always does, no hesitation. After i let off the idle was under 500 rpm while rolling then died on me again after a few seconds. Pulled over and tried to start but it was sputtering before it finally started, I then had to double foot it home.
Note: fuel filter and pump were replaced 6 months ago, recent front end work (wheel bearings, bushings ext. truck also drove as usual on the highway prior to this happening
