Why do you allow ads from dealers who lie about a car or its details?

Asked by Jerry Apr 20, 2022 at 11:10 PM about the 2013 Porsche Boxster Base

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

There is an ad currently on your site for a car in which I am interested where
the dealer has clearly and obviously lied about the car's features. Why do
you permit, and not police, such fraudulent behavior? I would have
scheduled an airplane trip to see and buy this car, except that I was able to
use a third-party site and the photographs provided by the dealer, to prove
that he was lying. I can't trust your site again.

Unfortunately Cargurus is an advertising site only. Similar to Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. The accuracy of the ads are the responsibility of the seller. You are wise to do your homework and due diligence when shopping for a vehicle online as opposed to in person. Continue to do that to avoid disappointments! Jim
