No bus

Asked by GuruQCVG2 Nov 17, 2019 at 02:31 AM about the 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport Quad Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a dodge Dakota And it has the horrible no
bus code on it that was keeping it from running.
I did replace the ECM to see if that would  fix my
problem.  When I did switch the new one in from
Importapart it does run but still has the no bus
code keeping  the dash from working.  What else
could I replace to get rid of the code so my dash
works when its being driven

Did you figure out the problem? I have the same issue right now.

It may be the BCM. If the ECM and BCM cannot communicate you will get this warning. The "bus" is the 2 wire communication network that all the computers share information on. Your instrument cluster isn't getting any info over the bus that's why you get the 'no bus' message and none of your gauges work.
