2001 dodge dakota quad cab 4x4 not working

We have a 01 dodge dakota quad cab that we were recently in an front end accident with going 15mph and ran into a tow hitch on a chevy truck. After dealing with our insurance company we finally got our truck repaired and now that we have it back we realized that the 4x4 is not working. I contacted the auto shop that repaired the truck and they said that they didn't repair anything that involved the 4x4. My husband has tried everything and he can't even get the 4x4 light to come on and the thing is the day the tow truck came to pick up the truck it was working just fine. Any suggestions?

is it just the lights on the 4x4 that tell you what it's ingaged in? or is there a light on the dash that says "4x4 error" or something like that?

The transmission control module located behind the dash is your most likely culprit. It is very common for this unit to go bad nad lock you out. This unit will also cause problems with the blower preventing it from pushing air when using the A/C. Average price of repair/replacement is approximately $600.00

hi my name is Darlene and my son has a Dodge Dakota 2001 his transfer case exploded while he was on the freeway with my grandson and he has another one coming and we're trying to get his truck up and running if you can get ahold of me either on Facebook or my email its Darlene clemets 1956 @ yahoo.com I'd really appreciate it because I really want to get my sons truck up and running and so he could take care of your family thank you
