what would cause the digital odometer on my 2013 dodge dart ralleye 1.4l turbo to flash on and off while the car is running?

Asked by turbo13 Oct 16, 2015 at 03:49 PM about the 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It started about 6 months ago and then , as still now, doesn't cause a problem other then being annoying. I thought it might have been some type of reminder to change the oil or something similar, but after the oil change today at the dealership, it still flashes the mileage. Of course, I asked the service department about it before I left and they didn't have a clue as to why.....all they said was to bring it back at another time and be prepared to leave it until they were done trying to troubleshoot the prob (which they had never heard of before). Anyone familiar with this problem?

If it is only the mileage odometer doing this in the dash,it will be a bad circuit in the board, but the only fix to this is replace or have repaired by the dealer.

I was able to stop the blinking odometer by using the "change oil" reset procedure (run-3pedaldepress-off).

I had the odometer flashing and did not know why. Then had issues not starting due to battery, replaced battery. Was fine for a week and a half. Now flashing again. Any thoughts??

I also have had the no start and odometer flashing...i replaced battery and seems it discharges every 4 days. Yes the alternator is charging. Also my bluetooth no longer will connect and will not pair to any phone

The odometer flashing is due to needing a proxi alignment. What that means is one of the devices on the CAN bus is out of sync with the others. The dealership can do this for you, and the price varies with each location. You can also do this procedure yourself if you have access to an OBDLink MX and an application called AlfaOBD. If you are in my area of West GA/East AL, I can do it for you free.

My Dart is a 2014 and when I took it in for what the shop diagnosed as an issue with the throttle body, when I got it back the odometer was flashing and has been ever since (5 months). It's been having issues about every 3 weeks for the past 6 months (transmission cable bushing, throttle body, battery, vacuum hose, and myriad seemingly electrical issues that the multiple shops I've taken it to have not been able to fix for more than a few weeks). Also the Bluetooth/uconnect stopped pairing my phone 2 years ago and now won't pair anyone else's either.

Try ejecting a cd or putting a cd in. It’s happened to me twice now and that got the radio to come back both times ! Hopefully this is helpful let me know if it works for you !
