I'm looking for some basic performance enhancement suggestions for my 2001 Durango, 4.7L, 76k. I'd like to be able to maintain hi-way speeds better while towing, and increase gas mileage for every day driving...Can I get some guidance for this? Thx.

I found that removing the breather tube that goes into the fender helps they starve for air do u have overdrive?
4.7L unfortunately has low aftermarket support. depends on how far you want to go, basic upgrades for air filter assy from k&n, aem, airaid. make it easier to breathe and any motor will be happy. have found few parts on horsepowerfreaks.com for 4.7. exhaust, intake, power programmer.
Update: So far as mods go, Shorty Headers, Airaid Throttle body spacer, Airaid intake, Smaller pulleys, and before whipple had a supercharger for the 4.7L on fasthemi and i believe hemifever but not anymore. You can get a mufflershop to do a true dual exhaust because it bugs the crap out of me that dodge made it into a single exit
