2012 Dodge avenger won't start

Asked by TJones42 Mar 05, 2019 at 01:27 AM about the 2012 Dodge Avenger V6 SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving down the street on my way home
from work and the Dodge avenger started slowing
down the red bolt light came on the check engine
light came on the ABS light came on and the
traction control came on and then the car died. I
stopped for about 5 minutes and then tried to
restart the car it started up only to do the same
thing again the lights dimmed and eventually
nothing worked. What could be the problem the
mechanic seems not to know what's going on with
it can anyone please help me! my mechanic
replaced the starter the car started with then died
and he seems to not be able to give me an answer.

Your mechanic should be able to hook up a diagnostic and see what the engine codes are since all your warning lights are on and the check engine light.

My 08 done this exact thing. I took it back to the dealer to have them look at it. They said it was my speed sensors on my tires.

My 08 avenger was doing the same thing auto zone tested my battery and alternator and said everything was fine. My mechanic wasn't sure what it was, so he replaced my alternator and it ran perfect.
