2005 TBird misses/chugs at speed and shows a P358 code

Asked by Dcirucci Jul 13, 2021 at 09:55 AM about the 2005 Ford Thunderbird 50th Anniversary Edition RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 TBird with 23,000 miles chugs/misses at speed while depressing the
throttle even lightly. My Launch shows a P358 code. I unplugged the #8
ignition coil and plugged in a noid light and started the car and verified the
computer was sending a pulse to the coil. (Also unplugged the #8 injector).
Purchased an OEM coil from Ford and installed it. Cleared the code form the
PCM. Went for a test drive. Car still misses/stumbles/chugs and new P358
code appears. From a standing stop if I stomp on it, it seems just fine. Any
thoughts? Could it be the #8 plug? Also sitting  at light it sometimes starts to
miss felling like it’s going to stall say 1 out of 10 times.  Thanks
