Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Wrench light comes on.  Car won't accelerate past 5 mph.  Shut car off and it resets the light.  Happens intermittently.  Dealership cannot find the problem nor can they duplicate it.

This happened to my '04 Bird. It turned out to be the coil packs. At the time, Ford had a recall on the packs and they replaced 7 of the 8 packs. The problem was solved. I also own a '04 Lincoln LS (with the same drive train as the T-Bird). It had the same symptoms but it turned out to be the throttle body controller.
