It could be as simple as a loose belt to a battery problem .. or at worst an alternator
Ohhh wow....how long could I drive with the car like this, because my mechanic isn't open until tomorrow, but I need to get around today....
You car has lots of electronics on it so if there is no charge going to the battery it will not run very long. Maybe not even long enough for a short errand. Have someone check the belt and do a voltage measurement at the battery with the engine running. The voltage should be between 13.5 and 14.7. If you drive it the voltage will get low enough that the car will shut off and not restart until the battery is charged.
its a bad clutch in the alternator pully..
All of a sudden my charging light started coming down like when they hit a pothole or Goldberg and the ghost ride out I have a new battery new alternator and new water pump in it what could it be
What is the problem all of the Dodge Avenger charging light keeps coming on only when I hit potholes or the curb are little bumps then it goes out I have a brand new battery and a new alternator
