2013 Koup Ignition Won't Start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This is the second time I've had this issue with my 2013 Kia Forte Koup SX. I
have a remote start button on my key fob, and both times I tried pushing it to
start and the lights, radio, etc. came on but the engine wouldn't turn. The first
time, I had it towed to a friend's mechanic who said it was an "electrical
problem" and fixed it (he was very vague and I don't trust him enough to go
back because I think he overcharged). Now that it's happened the second
time, I've tried looking at it myself but with no luck. I replaced the battery and
checked the fuses/relays and they seem fine. Has anyone else had this
issue??

@Ed92626 thank you for responding so quickly! I HOPE that's the problem. The remote start came with my car but I believe it was an aftermarket-installed Avital 4103LX. Are you saying I need to replace the battery on that remote and reprogram it with my car? The car is not a push button start and I know that can make a difference when dealing with ignition problems (so I want to make sure I don't screw everything up). I have a spare remote start fob but I'm worried it'll engage the security system if I try it.
