99 Dodge Caravan brake booster install???

Asked by moniquetriana Sep 29, 2015 at 07:37 PM about the 1999 Dodge Caravan SE FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have followed all steps to replace brake
booster. There is a non rival metal hose
behind the throttle body that prevented me
from removing old ( I had to yank out), not it
is impossible to put new one in. There is no
room between the metal on right which is
part of engine compartment and the metal
hose to the left behind throttle body. Am I
missing something? Videos show its easy,
says nothing about this hose. There's
nothing more I can remove unless it's the
whole manifold but the repair guide does
not call. It's too tight a queen the brake pin
won't Go in hole to pedal because the metal
tube. I want to find who engineered these
engines so I can smack him.

It's not just your car, it's all 21st Century cars now- they are engineered to be put together on an assembly line, with no thought for repairs- just sell them like so many brightly colored M&Ms- so , really, they are not meant to be repaired, just thrown away so new ones can be sold- now, of course, they can be repaired but by expert mechanics who know how to work around obstructions, who know that getting the right parts can be a frustrating exercise, who have the right kind of wrenches to get into those little impossible spaces- and then, even those experts curse and swear when they run into some diabolical bit of "engineering"..............good luck
